Exactly what I was gonna say. I picked up this old Peugeot for $20 awhile back, it needed a bottom bracket. Since it was French threaded, a replacement from Phil Wood or whoever would have cost many times what the frame was worth.

I think I have all of the parts to put it together...I just need someone with know how to help me figure it out.

Also one of the wheels is marginally bent so that needs to be fixed (spokes)

Phil wood is top of the line as far cartridge bearings go, thats like putting the rarest of rare mugen wheels on a rusted heap of a honda.

That looks like a pain in the ass. Have fun working on it though.

That's what I'm trying to say...I'd be stoked to make it work for like $50

Anything more and it'd be a waste...so like...is this doable? I don't even know

Tubes and tires would set you back at least $40 I would say buying locally. Check out www.nashbar.com for buying stuff online

Really I just wouldn't waste my time/money on a old, very heavy, department store, french frame.

Definitely not for under $50. Unless you can find a bike with the parts you need that's still in good condition for under $50.
