Default Road Bike Project

So last night I traded my roommate this Gary Fisher mountain bike I found for this...Donno if it was a good idea or not but I really want to build this bike

Does anybody know anything about it?

This is what I know:
-Made in France
-"Cotter"(?) style cranks...so needs to be swapped to something more American according to roommate
-ASTRA brand says "tour de france" on the side...from I believe 1982

Goals:
-Single speed
-NOT fixie
-Front brake only

Use it to ride around town...not super fast, just get me places and exercise

Ive got a decent set of flip flop wheels I can sell you for the single speed conversion. I can also help you out if you need it.

I suggest checking out bunnyhop on west grace or recycles on cary st.

You don't want it, lol

French frame

weird bottom bracket.

Headset is weird.

measurements on the whole bike are weird, and makes getting shit for it a pain.

Yeah...I don't really want to sink money into this...I have all the parts to put the crank back together...need sprockets, tubes, tires and wheels basically
