Most guys around here won't come close to that though. Most of the GT's I see around here are running mid 14's stock. I've got quite a bit of seat time at the track, which I think really helped me get the quicker times out of the car.
2) If a built n/a 5.0 Mustang isn't at least running mid 12's, either someone didn't build it right or someone can't drive. A lot of guys are running mid 11's @ 115+ in daily driven 5.0's with the latest round of heads/cams on the market. Jimmy's coupe is a nice example of what a well thought-out combination can do in those cars.
3) I think a lot of this isn't so much as hatred towards one another's brands, but more ignorance (I say this in a positive manner) towards the other brands. In other words...you guys don't know much about other brands. Nothing wrong with that, but it helps to keep an open mind and try to learn from one another rather than blindly bash the other's preference.

Wow i almost forgot i was reading on drag va! you get a gold star

Definately some cheap entertainment again this evening. handfull of quick cars, buncha turtle races, briefly met some nice guys from the 757 afterwards at kroger before the po po showed up and i had to bail due to lack of an even marginaly legal vehicle. All and all better then spending sat night drunk at someones lame party

back from broad st kroger and the 2 other spots, not to be mentiond, had a blast, i dont know who all was up there and who all i talked to but if any of you read this , everyone i met was cool. raced a few cars nothing set up just playing around going down the street. see you all next time
Personally, i'm a big fan of anything that's fast... Muscle cars are what i really like, but i've always owned and worked on imports.. so i have much respect for both sides of the picture. I love my import, it's a very fun car to drive, and build, just as much fun as any v8. I hang around with a lot of mustang and F-body guys.. and a lot of hondas.. really i hang around with a pretty odd combination of crap. What it all boils down to, when trying to go fast, is whether or not the owner and builder know what the hell they are doing.. i've seen heads/cam/nitrous mustangs go 11s, and i've seen them go 14s... i've seen hondas with 30 grand sunk in them go 13s, and i've seen hondas with 5 grand in them go 10s.. i've seen someone copy a 10 second DSM 100%, only to take their clone to the track and run 13.0s...
being a fan of pretty much anything, i place most of my respect based on an owners attitude... if they are cool, and seem like an honest hard working person that takes pride in their car, i will give them their share of respect for sure.. they deserve it.. everyone has their own taste in what they want to build, i'm not going to knock someone for doing what they like.
but if someone is a deuchebag, or a truly ignorant asshole, or something like that.. then no matter how nice or fast the car might be... i'm going to call it a turd and make fun of the person till the day they die
a modest person who knows where their 14 second car stands in the food chain is a cool person...
a cocky shit talking son of a bitch who thinks their 14 second honda is the best thing since cable internet, is a deuche that needs his face kicked in.

Addition to Nics comment and what a good thought out combination can do right from Jim, Scott and the gang from VT Engines.
Now on to the good stuff. This engine is going into Jim's SS/O car, and will be one of a couple modular outlaw cars. Keep in mind, these #'s are with his tiny 91mm turbo, he will be running a 98mm in outlaw... these #'s are just a break in tune with the small turbo, until he gets done with his real intercooler
Specs:
324ci
Explorer aluminum block
Darton Sleeves
VT stroker crank
GRP aluminum rods
CP pistons
VT/Cometic Darton head gaskets
Fox Lake stage 2 Navi heads
Complete Crower valvetrain
Crower cams
VT Billet pump gears
Sullivan Intake
and now for the #'s:
1448 HP and 1077 TQ!! This tuneup is so safe that it's not even funny: 22psi, 13.5 deg timing and 11.2 A/F. If it wasn't 90+ deg and humid as hell today....it would be well over 1500hp

Now, stop preaching because WE KNOW what mustangs can do. We know they can be fast and a lot are slow (like yours). Now, what you need to do, is some research before you start babbling off at the mouth again. Your what MAYBE 16? You're ignorance proceeds you.

Please i dont want to waste my time n energy fightin with a person i dont know. So why dont you jus shut the mouth up and then open it back up when you see dlb driving "HIS" car so then you can open your mouth and get back to suckin again!! Also this argument is about "stangs vs hondas" NOT my car vs dlb's car! It seems everyone seems to get "it", but this guy!
If you wanted to compare stock vs. stock, why are you comparing a vehicle designed as a sports car to a one intended as a family car?
Dumping money into a car means nothing. Speed on a budget is relative to the starting platform and the intention (autox, drag, street, road course) and the aesthetics (look stock, bondo friendly, or a balance).
Comparing the cost of parts also means nothing. Go-fast parts on a Ferrari are hard to come by and cost a fortune. Go-fast parts on a domestic may be cheaper on average than an import depending on how the engine responds to specific setups (supercharger, heads, cams, turbo, etc).
Responding in this thread makes me feel dumberer already.
