Richmond meets....
That's not allowed. Car enthusiasts aren't allowed to go to the park and have cookouts. See thread about the last meat attempt for details.
Linky? I know at Rockwood the cops showed up, but I do not remember anything about not being able to. I am at work, and do not have time to go searching away.
More ideas aren't needed, a working plan is, the plan is to meet at Rockwood Park for a cookout and softball/football/frisbee. Make it stop raining first and then we can set it up.
We will need a Chesterfield county resident to reserve one of the shelters after 3pm for $45 pre-payment (non-resident like me gets charged an extra $10). People who would like to come are more than strongly encouraged to donate $5 per car towards the cost of reserving the shelter and the rest going towards the cost of meat. I have a Costco membership and can get good meat for burgers cheaper than regular places (just not as cheap as Sweeny Todd). I'll volunteer to front the cost for the burgers. Any leftover funds would be applied towards the next cookout. Someone who is good at cooking this stuff who would like to volunteer would be greatly appreciated, tips for the chef would be nice. Everyone could bring in some non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, games, etc.
No alcohol (prohibited by the park). No burnouts, no stupidity or inbreeding.
To get this started, whoever is able to reserve the shelter, pick a Saturday or Sunday that works best for your schedule, fill out this form and front the cost for the shelter. Let me know and I'll get the burger stuff the day before. Am sure there will be a lot of people taking good car photos, so get your car clean. Whoever would like to volunteer to be the chef, post up!
