I am going to try to make some calls today. There is a place in powhatan (sp), that my Dad takes his old car meets to. Has a lake, places to cook. Yeh it is out of the way, but you wont be harassed. I am also going to make a few other calls to a few other places today.

I really wish that shit like this took place in charlottesville. Ill have to see if I can meet up with you guys eventually. I get my license back in april (DUI.) All thats around here is annoying ricers, rednecks, or highschoolers that are just getting into the scene and think they're the main chracter in the Fast and the Furious. It would nice to hangout with some proper gearheads for once.

If it is during the day, I think thats the best chance of being good and legit.
From what I have seen, Cops tend to be nice if you don't conform to the typical boy-racer thing, parking lots at night, etc.
If I brought my car to a legit meet/ BBQ during the day, I wouldn't be worried even if cops show up.

Its not just about a place and time for meets, set-up meets happen all the time, you just have to put forth the effort and time to find out about them. What I think the OP was trying to get at was richmond scene from 2-3 summers ago. People would come every fri-sat from nova, fred, the bay, shit was awesome. Its dead now and doubt its ever coming back to what it was back than.

Where is this place? I just moved to Powhatan from Florida and have a 65 Chevy II. I'd love to know where the others hang out around here. :fingers crossed:

theres fighting creek park, i think some park up by hugenot too, never really been down in em.. then theres bear creek park in cumberland which is decent and has some good bbq spots. bear creek would make a good summer spot with plenty of shaded bbq's + tables, lake beach area + swimming, swings, nice size parking lot (though its a little distant from the beach and bbq area) shit bring a rod and reel too theres decent fishing
the city dwellers will see rt.60 turn 2 lanes, gasp!
