I'm not sure if I met any of you guys but I was there in the red Beetle. I got about 8 passes in and quit around 10:00. That's more passes than I expected. I battled some preignition problems early in the evening but after some re-jetting and a little timing work I got that worked out mostly. The humidity was definitely screwing with me.

I didn't do better than a 13.2. My 60' times were sucking out there for sure. I can get 1.7 on some tracks, but out there I was doing no better than 2.0's Just couldn't hook up.

Disappointing launch pad at the track. I could have broke 12's. But all in all I had fun.

i was actually amazed how smoothly it went... there's no way they could have fit more passes in except for not having silly contests like "ugliest car" or like frost said "most like a tractor"...

That beetle was pretty damn quick man. was a decent turnout and alot of racing. That black Chevelle was bad ass busting out an 8.4x.

RPM got a new best and a few good runs in with Adam, David and Jarrod got some decent mph runs in.

I think you were the favorite out there. All of my boys were rooting for you.

The track sucked last night. I was coming off the line softer than normal and my 60's were still 4/10ths off because the car wouldn't hook. On the bright side, I finally got my shifting woes figured out. After we left I was fooling around and figured out that I've been holding my hand on the top of the shifter when I'm at the track, which is why my hand keeps slipping off the shifter and I keep missing gears, whereas on the street I hold the shifter by the side of the knob like I did in my old GT. I never miss gears on the street and didn't used to miss gears at the track with the GT either, so next time I'm at the track I'm going to make a conscious effort to hold the shifter the other way. I missed 3rd on both runs last night

I want to know how the hell I bog slicks one second and spin all the way through 1st and 2nd and a little of 3rd the next.

Shitty track. I can usually dump the clutch at 5k and hook on my MT radials, last night I was slipping the clutch from 3k and still spinning.

edit: Same thing with Mo (Fatboyee for those of you who remember him)...he was on a 28" MT radial and still couldn't hook for shit. Saw another guy in a fox smoke at set of 28" MT radials for about 150' coming off the line.

That's what I'm talking about. It was terrible. I only got the left lane one time, and even that side was crappy. My very first run was the best 60' time I got too. Thoughout the night, my time slips show total degradation of the track on 60' times.. Could have been a lot better if I were on DOTs or slicks, but I had a 90 mile drive to get home after that, and wanted to keep my car in one piece.

I am certain I could get to a 1.6 60' on drag radials, but last night, hell, even on those, I mighta still had trouble getting out of the hole at that track. Too wet and too dirty. I think the humidity was some of it, but the cracks in the track with water in them wasn't helping matters much. I heard quite a few cars with slicks screeching out of two gears, which shouldn't be happening.

I had fun running that Mazda GLC or whatever it was with the open pipes and the rotary engine. That car could haul ass with the right exhaust and better shifting. Those open pipes are not helping at all. The guy with the RX7 turbo that whipped me got to hear me miss second gear BIG time. If I hadn't missed that, it would have been real close. He won by about half a second, and I ran about 0.800 slower that run than some of my best runs. The boosted cars always amaze me with what they do in the higher gears too. Very cool.
