Well I don't live up there, so I wouldn't know.

But you really can't gauge a club by what goes on on the 18 year old nights. If you were a chick would you go to 18+ night? That's why you end up surrounded by dudes.
Well, I don't think I want to drive all the way up to DC for one night...plus I guess you have a very valid point about 18+ nights. I just assumed it was the city population around here.

I sometimes go to gay clubs for the hot ass women, they go there with friends so they don't get hit on by guys -- their guard is down and when you're the only straight guy in the club, it's so damn easy...

Teens don't spend as much money in clubs (Coke costs much less than a Martini) and they tend not to tip nearly half as much. Those under 21 trying to get alcohol puts the liquor license in jeopardy. Why would any club try to cater to teens?

There is a lot to do in Richmond other than bars and clubs for people of all ages. If you're focusing only on bars and clubs, broaden your horizons.

I go to Blackfinn, Bank, Lucky Buddha, and Capital Ale House regularly.

I went to NY Deli once and enjoyed it. They play old school hip-hop and 90s music. A lot of artsy/scenester peeps hang out here.

I go to Tobacco Co. or Banditos if I feel like dancing and getting a little out of control.

If you're not 21, you probably shouldn't bother. A lot of the nicer places won't let you in on busy nights unless you know someone or pay the doorman.

Bottoms Up Pizza is a cool place. I remember the days of the Flood Zone in the bottom and Twisters on Grace Street. Nancy Raygun is cool I guess if there's a decent band playing, so is Alley Katz if you're into hardcore/punk/indie scene..just some thoughts..Richmond also has Mekong Restaurant a Vietnamese place, and a Thara Thai at Short Pump if you're a foodie, those places are fun.

Tara Thai and Mekong are both Americanized and bland. For Thai, I like Thai Diner II on Cary St. and for Vietnamese, I like Pho So 1 or Vietnam 1 on Horsepen Rd.

But I thought this thread was about nightlife and not restaurants?
