Im in Williamsburg, and I have been wanting to go fishing from shore or rocks in the James River in Richmond and other nearby rivers (Hopewell, etc) in the 804 for smallmouth, shad, white perch, and stripers. I have tried to research places to go and what to use with not much luck. Ive hear a lot about the 14th St. bridge, especially in April during the shad run. Im thinking this is a good starting point. Can you guys give me the scoop on that spot and others? It would be greatly appreciated.
