DSM brothas be real cheap! That's why their cars sit on jackstands so much. Before I get flamed, I have a vr4, which is big brother to all your DSM goodness, while not being a DSM.

close enough, imported by diamond star motors, hehe.. I'd say they sit in driveways and backyards more than jackstands though. Sitting on jackstands would mean someone's actually working on them.

Actually the vr4 had nothing to do with Diamond Star Motors. Diamond Star Motors had a plant in Normal, Illinois.

The Galant vr4 was assembled in Japan and imported by MMC (Mitsubishi Motors Corporation). Not only that, but first Galant vr4 was produced in 1987 and released in 1988, before the DSM plant was even officially opened.

Never call a Gvr4 a DSM, heh.

I never said most of that wasn't true, but you have made the same error that 90% of the misinformed people make.. DSM wasn't a factory. It was a joint operation project between Mitsu and Chrysler that was formed in the early 80s. DSM was a part of the production of several cars, the Talon/Eclipse/Laser are just the most well known, and the ones that have the common production plant in illinois. 3000GT/Stealth, Starion/conquest, and I can't remember, but I think they had a hand in the cordia and tredia as well. Just because the E/T/L got the nickname doesn't mean the company didn't do other shit too, dunno why it's so hard for people to understand. I don't know if the GVR4 was imported through that project or seperately by Mitsubishi, but considering a majority of Mitsubishi's stuff was done through chrysler in the 80s and early 90s it wouldn't surprise me. Doesn't really matter though. After working on them for 10 years it's just a talon in disguise as far as I'm concerned. Just making the point I don't need a history lesson. There's actually a lot more to it than that, I just gave the quick version.
