Someone took the photo then turned color saturation way up. It was not exposed like that from teh camera.
Actually it looks like the background has been desaturated moreso than the car has had the saturation run up. Same effect revese way to get there as long as you dont go overboard with the editing.

The color levels have been tweeked also to give that slightly vintage look.

believe it or not i saw the full rusted 5 series at southern worthersee in georgia, it looks just like the picture, i even think it looks better in person IMO

this arguement has been going on for a long while now. as it is just a fad alot of people in the aircooled vw scene do exactly like posted. they find a car in a field, or in a barn or wherever they find the car, throw an engine in it, slam it and call it a day. they say full restoration takes away its history.
