For me it's not the performance stats... it's hearing professional drivers speak to the true character of the car.
As for the ZR1 interior... go sit in one, I have... it's really quite nice. Is it $300,000 Ferrari? No... but it's awesome.
I'd put money on doing a test with a focus group and slapping Ferrari (or other mark) badges on it they'd rate the interior far better. There's this assumption that Corvettes always have shit interiors that leaks through all of the reviews.
In fact, last year I read a test w/ some small econo-box... I tihnk it was a Chevy Aveo or something. They tested people and had them rate the car, then tested a group put told them it was a new Toyota and had Yota badges on it and the car got higher scores accross the board.
The real issue on the ZR1 is the seats... at first I asked why the heck didn't they put some kickass seats in the car just for the ZR1. Turns out seats have to be crash tested/certified. So if GM made a whole new seat they'd have had to re-certify it at great expense. So instead they just put a ZR1 logo on a C6 sport seat and leave the fancy seats to the aftermarket.
I guarantee that if you put the seats from a GT2 Porsche in the car and had people re-test it you'd get rave reviews about the interior design and people wouldn't pickup on the other "issues" they find w/ it.
The high end interior option for the new C6 was actually designed by the company that does the interiors for Mercedes Maybach (sp?). On the base car it's the 4LT option, on the Z06 it's the 3LT trim package, and on the ZR1 it's part of the 3ZR package. You get a leather wrapped dash and doors w/ nicer stitching and better padding etc. Also the console trim is a slightly lighter shade etc.

I wonder whose warranty Motor Trend just voided on that launch. I know they didn't buy their own GTR just for this test. Besides that, something tells me that if they had borrowed one directly from Nissan it wouldn't have lost.
