Default Whats a good beginner car?

Well once I get enough money and get my license which will be soon, I wanted to know what would be a good beginners car, in which will be slightly modded. I'm looking between the $1000-4000 price range. I defanitly dont want to be called a "ricer" or anything, but I would be willing to take a Honda anyday and im defanitly not exculding them. What car would be a great beginners car to start with? And also what mods would be good to start off with?

Thank you

"Ricers" are popular because they're cheap and easily modded. So long as you stay away from the aero kits and cosmetic mods just change what's under the hood, nobody has to know but you You might check out miatas, too.

But before we can really lend and helpful advice... what will you be using this car for? Just getting from pt.A to pt.B, or do you have any special requirements, like towing a boat, or hauling a drumset, etc?

Go with a honda. You're young and they are easy to work on, parts are affordable and insurance will be cheap.

Look at 92-00 civics or a 94 and up integra. (and dont get an auto)

late 80s - early 90s mustang as TooCool said would be good... a Civic as the others have stated would fit your needs just fine as well to start learning about cars.

I had the same price range when I first started out and if I could go back I would personally choose a stang or something else rwd.

I would agree with you, however, when i was 16 i was broke as hell. And with the stang you have to factor in gas mileage, insurance, and maintenance costs.
