whats the difference in the 2JZ's ?
ok so might want a 2jz-gte to put in my 240.
i found the motor for like 3,200 or so with tranny and what not.
anyways i was looking on ebay and found a 2JZ-GE with everything for like 700 bucks. i plan on building the motor anyways, so i wanted to know if there is a difference in the 2. cant i just grab a 2jz-ge and build it the same as a 2jz-gte ?
helpful input would be apreciated

OK HERE GOes:
the ge is the na versions diff head same block. The na does not have the oil squirters like the GTE but once you get to a certain power level it is advised by titian and etc to remove the oil spitters and plug it up or just swap to the NA block. Some parts are interchangable such as the exh cam but not the intake because the GTE has coil ignition setup and the GE has a dizzy set up. The intake and exh flanges are diff as well so you would have to choose which head you are gonna use. GE has a 10:1 c/r and the GTE has a 8.5:1 same rods same crank same material pistons with diff c/r. The NA version has seen 700whp complete stock internals besides a 2mmHG. any more question hit me up. you can use either tranny with either 2jz the w58/r154 or the v160.
