Reset button. I had the same shit happen to my car. IIRC, there isnt actually a sensor, it just calculates the difference in rotation between the tires.

You're seriously saying there isn't a sensor? What are you smoking?
I just did a print screen from the manufacturer's datasheet of the most common integrated sensor on the market, but I can't post attachments.. The system is a pressure transducer, temp sensor, microcontroller, and RF transceiver all in one package that gets bonded on the rim or integrated into the valve stem.

On my car there isnt, so yes I SERIOUSLY said that. I was simply stating that not all cars with tire pressure sensors actually have a sensor. Thanks for being a dick, dick.

Obviously not if hes not aware of some vehicles being equipped with tire pressure systems that DO NOT have tire pressure sensors. Again, some cars calculate tire pressure by the difference of rotation between tires.

I thought you were making a general statement about pressure monitoring systems based on one oddball car. I was starting to wonder about you. It's cool though, I'm not offended.

I don't know the subtle nuances between the systems on all the cars on the market, I just know electronics. You've apparently owned one of the only cars on the market that monitors pressure without monitoring pressure. The biggest problem with the rotational speed setups is that it gets fooled really quickly by uneven tire wear and things like that, so it sucks at guessing pressure. I'm guessing your car didn't actually display pressure, it only had a warning light when something was out of spec?

im a toyota tech and it is possbile that one of your sensors are faulty. if you set all pressures to 32 psi w/ the ignition in the on position and the light doesnt clear automatically then you may have a faulty sensor. there is no tire pressure warning light reset button for newer 4runners. if the ligt doesnt clear after all 5 tires have been set then you need to bring it in to the dealer because the only way you can find out if its a bad sensor is to check sensor registrations on a toyota scan tool w/ CAN interface. make sure there are no nails or slow leaks in your tires first though. hope this helps you out a little.

Correct, it doesnt display pressure, theres only a warning light. For the most part, it is worthless because it only comes on when your tire is noticably low, so minor fluctuations dont throw any lights.

i was thinking maybe a low sensor battery but the car is an 04 and the sensor batteries are supposed to last for years.
