Default To thermostat or not to?

Running no thermostat is that bad on a motor?

Um... it is in the winter... it'll take forever for it to come up to temp. Go buy a quality one or an oem one and be done with it.

I did buy a oem nissan one, and for some reason im still overheating.. took it out, and i can barely get the car to warm up. but its gonna be living in Southern North Carolina.. so would it be ok to drive it down there with no t-stat?

yeah. it'll run fine, the car just wont warm up worth a shit, and your heat wont work real good.

could it be water pump? radiator?

Probably a clogged radiator if the T-stat is new...

STE, I replaced, Waterpump, Radiator to a Koyo 4 row, OEM Thermostat, New Hose's. and im still overheating..? Took the T-stat out, im good. well freezing cold lol

I still insist that 225 is not overheating, I think your temp gauge is fooked.

Tim that was my first thought that i might have put it in backwards, but when i pulled it out, spring was in the block.. and the burp hole was pointing up to the top of the block.

Mchvngs, i have never seen these temps during the winter.. 225 during the summer yes but not during the winter..im tryin to fix it now so come summer it doesnt boil over..
