It's hard to say. You must decided on a motor first. I would...if it was me...go with any B18A/B/C or B20. Problem is that 99% of the motor swaps that you're going to find under $1500 are going to be crap.

Other things to think about before you install your newly acquired beauty.

- Do a leak down of the cylinders. !!!a must anytime buying a used motor from anyone!!! It is very simple and you only need an air compressor and a leak down gauge. I'm sure you can rent one from Auto Zone.
- Change the clutch.
- Reserface to flywheel.
- Check the rear main seal for leaking.
- Change the oil pan gasket if leaking.
- Check cam cap seal, valve cover/spark plug grommets for leaking.

Nothing sucks more than driving around with a motor that leaks and smells like burnt oil.
