There isn't much else to say, other than bandpass boxes are exaclty that, if designed PROPERLY they are great for a specific band, i wouldn't suggest them to anyone.

Although I'd say go sealed, best all-around, IMO. Rock or anything with a faster BPM sounds dirty in a ported enclosure. Hip-hop sounds good on anything.
My ported re sx would prove you wrong but I sold that beauty already.

I mostly listen to rock. It doesn't matter now guys I got a box and I like the way it sounds. I have always preferred a ported box to a sealed when it comes to hatchbacks/suv's. Sealed boxes sound good in truck cars.

Manufacturer's recommendations are getting slowly better it seems.. I've had good luck with the recommended enclosure sizes usually, especially for sealed setups..

That's a good point. But if you're trying to size and/or tune a box yourself, at the least you should run a box simulator with the published specs. It would be better to measure them yourself though.
