streched tire's 225 on a 9.5
lol, right. I've personally never intentionally tried to drift my car, because it's almost never going to be the fastest way around a corner. I don't doubt that it's fun, takes skill, etc., but since it's not a timed event, or doesn't reward a winner for being the fastest in anyway, it's not racing. The analogy comparing it to figure skating is spot on. It's an event that is judged based on opinions/interpretations, not speed, lap times, etc. and is determined strictly by the judges.
I cannot WAIT for this retarded trend to go the way of combat body kits and underbody neons.
"it reduces sidewall flex"... gimme a break. You want less sidewall flex, mount the tire on a rim that allows the sidewall to sit nearly 90 degrees from the road.
I'd laugh in your face and tell you to get your retarded wheel/tire setup out of my shop too.
If you can fit a 225/265 combo on your car, why the hell would you ever want to decrease performance, safety, and imho looks by putting narrower tires on it? Wide tires ALWAYS look better than skinny tires. In my opinion, if you can fit a 265 on there, you should be experimenting with a 275.

5 pages of haterade. I understand all points. I'm not drifting or tracking with this set-up. I admit that a wider tire would probably out perform and look better than running an under sized tire. You'll never see a stretched tire in F1, nascar, road racing or any "racing application". I would never try to run a stretch tire in that style of racing. As for looks and fitment with my current wheel set-up. I have to run a stretched tire or roll the fenders out a little more. Believe me, If I could run a 275 front 315 rear I would be all over that set up. But for now......I'll stick with the trendy, ugly, rubbing on fenders, not legal, unsafe, JDM tyteness YO tire set up.
The 225 combo is not going to work and it will most def look ugly. I'm ordering a set of 235f and a 255r for better fender to wheel clearence.
Thank you to all who replied in this thread. I have taken everyones advise in to account. Alot of points were well made. I knew this would be a heated topic.
