Ok. So I have this 55 gallon barrel of 114 race gas sitting.

The motherfucker just made a loud ass pop noise. It's like the 4 time I've heard it do it.

I'm not big into the science of metals and what not, or the effects on them when you introduce them to gas or other chemicals.

But uh, is that shit supposed to happen? It just happened and it's 1:21 in the morning. Scared the living shit outta me.

O, and it's about empty, has maybe 1/16th left

Yah, sorta. Kinda in barn type or deal. I know metal contracts and what not. But damn, you think barrel manufacteurs would make it so it didn't sound like a bomb going off.

 

ive had this same probblem before, its the bottom of the barrel popping in and out with the changes in air tempriture

 

If it's almost empty it's gonna be loud. No way around it. It doesn't help that the temp is swinging all over the place lately.
