Pricey? I think they're cheap. LOL I'm depressed because I just spend $11k on my long block for my STi.

That's about the same price it is for a fully built long block from them assembled.

for that price i might as well just get the livernois 298 stroker for 4999, and have the option for the 9.7.1 compression
They are listed at $300 here, http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr...655cPath=11_27 And I thought you could get them cheaper through the dealership. But if not, than you're right, I would just spend the few hundred dollars more and get the Livernois stroker.
Low compression can be fixed with boost! haha

*EDIT*
Just get the 3rd one down and use a thicker gasket to drop the compression a bit!

They had some for $7-9k that looked to be good for quite a bit more than he's looking for. It's just disappointing that things like pistons cost me the same as a v8. Obviously you have twice as many pistons. lol

i think thats the 4v shortblock. When i called to price one out, i only got like 100 off the price for the aluminator. I was quoted a litlle over 4600, i think sutton performance sells them for 4600 shipped. If i do the hellion kit the 8.5.1 would be good, but with the paxton i need a little more compression.

Yeah, eight for the price of four.

What is the bore on those engines?

That's cool. I just wanted to approximate the amount of metal used to make pistons. Our pistons are 99-100mm, but have crazy short skirts so I'd says the amount of metal is similar. LOL

In the end I'm sure it's all about how many pistons the manufacturer sells. I'm sure more Mustang guys buy pistons than WRX guys. I know the Honda guys must buy a ton of sets, though.
