ALTEZZA's have nice little thing on them call DOT approved your spray paint stuff does not. I like FC get hard-ons for cars with shit like that. I would offer you this adivce. Get some gaytezzas that are DOT approved I say gaytezzas cause they are cheaper than stock most times...anyway put them on for the INspection so assholes like me and FC cant fail you---well for that anyway

yeah i have my tails blacked out as you can see and i failed for them. i just put some altezzas that i had around on then got inspected then changed right back over.

 

good plan..urs look good. yeah i think i'll just tint them after the inspection then get some backup tails for other times. some 99-00 civic tails would be cool but they run on the more expensive side.

 

its called a courtesy to someone that does you a favor. if someone hooks you up with something that is not generally considered the norm, you dont go around telling everyone "hey, i just got my illegal car inspected, and it passed no questions asked. go see......and give him....."


someone goes out on a limb for doing shit like that, and someone ALWAYS fucks it up for them. i worked with a guy that was facing four years in jail for writing illegal stickers. he was lucky that he admitted to everything, and he wound up with four years probation, no liscense anymore, and was fired.

on topic though....yes, if it is not a D.O.T. approved lens, it will not pass. any light mounted to a vehicle must be DOT approved and operate correctly. tints are not approved, nor are neons, strobes (unless you are like myself and am an emergency service personell , even then there are only a few that i can have ) clear corners that arent approved, blue headlamps (again, there are about four last i recall that are considered "approved equipment, i can scan my copy of "the bible" aka VA State Inspectors Manual if i get a chance...
