Default SR20DET in a........

I just wanted to get some opinions on an SR20DET swap in a 1987 300ZX. Has anyone seen it done b4? What do you think the pros and cons would be?

Do a KA turbo. you will need some more torque to pull that big chassis around. KAT's rule for torqe and mid HP

i've never drove/ridin in a 87 turbo b4. my brother has the 300zx non-turbo. something is wrong with it (like the cold start valve or some shit) and my brother hasn't driven it for a while. he is too lazy to get it fixed so i wanna revive it. he was trying to sell it but i don't think he cares anymore, lol.

now thats the 95 and up style 240 engine, right? this would probably be cheaper than any of the other engines huh?

KA24E, single cam 135-140 hp 160 lb-ft came in the 240 from 89-90. KA24DE, dual cam 155hp 160 lb-ft came in the 240 from 91+. If you can get ahold of a 91 KA24DE, grab it because it had the best cams. I believe the 91 had 240 degrees intake and 248 degrees exhaust while the other DE's had 232 intake and 238 exhaust. other then that the 91+ KA24DE's were basicly identical

Whats funny is i lost power with the 91 cams on a I/E equipped KA.

get a 95+ KA from a 240sx. the early 91-94's had butterfly plates in the intake manifold that could restrict airflow in a turbocharged application.

the long intake runners of the KA and the long stroke just make it the best for high torque output. it does well in hp too.
