Ok look, if a cop follows you doing 75, his speedometer is going to say 75 which is proof enough in court that you were speeding.

 

Like that other guy said, cops can pace you and use that as their proof. My first ticket was for 50 in a 35. It was night time and I didn't notice the cop behind me who paced me for 1/2 a mile.

 

^^Thank you. My girlfriends father has been a cop for 20+ years so when i hang around them it's usually with a lot more cops. I hear a lot of stories and i know what cops can/can't do.

Yeah you better belive that they can pace you and tell the judge that in court and the judge will belive the cop. So you better get your story right so when you go to court the judge will show you some mercy.

 

I am also a victim of pacing. In court, the cop said

"I was doing 70 in my personal vehicle and the suspect was still pulling away."

 

I got caught speeding doing 41 on a 25 with a crucial ass $300+ ticket. The tints on the windows didn't help either I got a ticket for them as well.

 

I didnt say they couldnt pace you, and my story is straight.

 

so... you weren't speeding but got a speeding ticket?

if you know for a fact you weren't speeding, fight it in court. ask if you were hit by a radar/laser or paced. regardless of what he sais, ask for the records of his calibration or proof his spedo is functioning properly. if he can't present them, i believe they let you go.

or you could just pay the fine.
