Sold the Z...Viper has arrived
I still want to say congrats but I still wish that you would have more of an appreciation for it if you paid for it and insurance out of your own pocket and own policy. I have actually been eyeballing a Viper myself but I have a lot to read up on and some other things to get straight first. I hope you have enough common sense to respect a vehicle of such horsepower and rarity as if it was your own flesh and blood because how fast something can go wrong and you could hurt yourself or someone you care about or someone you don't even know.
It would be a shame to see you or someone else end up as a headline.

If you can't afford the high insurance you budget shouldn't really be taking a high car payment.
Which is why I choose not to purchase a vehicle within that price range lol. I'm just stating that if I had a clean record it would be more affordable to drive a more expensive auto. I know....duh
My point being that if a little bit higher insurance would make your budget too tight, it doesn't have enough margin really to be spending on an expensive car you don't need in the first place even without the higher insurance.
I will 2nd the be careful... Vipers are a different breed. They have a short wheelbase, rear weight bias, and no traction control or active handling. They like to swap ends with ease.
This is the Viper to have
'96 B/W GTS... they're still north of $55,000 though because of the rarity. Interesting fact: The '97-'98 Vipers are faster than the later GenIIs as they had a more aggressive cam that was eventually toned down for emissions reasons. You can hear it in the idle lope.
