I'm curious how much you paid and what your insurance is like and what kind of coverage you have on it.

I saw a ford fiesta with a mustang cobra badge on it today. I appreciated it.

Insurance costs mowing the grass 3 times a month for mom and dad.

My insurance on the Viper is $79 a month (no that is not a typo) FULL COVERAGE on Liberty Mutual under my dad's policy of course. The car was 35k, a really good deal if you look at Vipers with mileage as low as mine. They all go for $37k+
But the owner needed to sell her for the dp money for a house, he didn't want to wait forever for the right guy to buy it at the price he wanted it for. I think it was a steal, and with the rumor of Vipers being discontinued, as long as I keep the mileage low, car'll be worth a lot in the future

Would have been worth more if it was a 93...

Sweet car though man, my buddies Dad picked up a 93 a few years ago and it is a blast. It isn't just about hp #s, it is about the experience.

What kind of pricing do the rear tires come out to?

Interesting... it's a cool car for sure, but I'm not sure I would ever own a Viper (even if I could fit in them).

*Gen 1 cars are Iron blocks w/ head gasket issues (the TSB replaces them with MLS gaskets)
*They make decent power and lots of torque
*There is no top and the soft tops have plastic side windows an they leak
*The interior is a joke

The Pros:
*Modern day shelby cobra
*Torque... tons of it
*Rare = lots of looks

As for boosting... a Gen 1 motor needs head gaskets etc. The early Gen 2s have forged pistons (96 for sure, and I think '97). After that they have cast pistons and need motor work for decent boost.

I've driven a few Gen 2s and one Gen 3 but never a 1st gen... I'm surprised you paid $35,000 for a 14 year old car when you can get something like a new '08 C6 for $40,000. Not saying you want a C6 but for $35,000 I'd expect more car.

The one you got does look to be in nice shape though.... enjoy it

How does a 94 equal a 12 year old car?
