Default Shaved molding question

I'm thinking about shaving my moldings. Anybody have a suggestion for me whether I should do it or not? I have a 98 civic 4 door.

Do it. But do it right. Don't be ghetto and fill in the molding channels with body filler. Get it done with sheet metal or fiberglass. Or, if you just want to get rid of the molding, and want to leave the channels intact, get little pieces of metal bonded/welded behind the square fastener holes, then fill the hole thickness with filler.
