OP is so stupid. Wants to keep his "priorities straight" but can't resist having a car from Fast and Furious. I bet he'll join an RX-8 forum and post all his aspirations which will in reality end up being 19 inch rotas on cheap used tires, factory suspension, autozone DIY intake, and a box full of apex seals

HAHA did he really just do that?

The auto has a less powerful version of the same motor. The FUEL is that lubricates things and can only do so really well at full go but you bought the auto which has a neutered redline. Have fun in a really dull car that looks like a guppy.

If it's that good of a deal, just flip it. You said close to 2k? Dealer trade in on a base 04 rx8 in average condition is a bit above that.

That's what I'm planning on doing. It's the touring trim also, not a base so the value will be a little bit higher.

COMPLETELY different route.. Found the car I've been wanting for a while now; 99 M3. Cant wait to get into building this thing!

Thanks for everyone's input on the RX btw. It may still be available if anyone was truly interested in picking it up for the price he was asking.

omg. e36 m3 could lead you into more problems than the rotary...

subframe bushings.
coolant system.
vacuum hoses.
HEADLINER. gah, fuck that headliner.
shift knob popping off.
sunroof fail.
gl replacing the starter.
shocks fail.
center console/dash lights fail
radio lights fail
constant cel

god help you if you "moneyshift".

otherwise, great car. not much to "build"... it's fantastic as is as long as it's close to how it came from the factory. sadly, most representatives of the e36 m3 listed for sale are not, and far from it.

i hope the m3 at least is a manual.

Yeah the M3 is manual and completely stock. Headliner is coming down slightly but i know someone who's does upholstery and such and they're fixing it for free as reconditioning the vaders. As far as the build, there is a guy here that does incredible work with M3s and we are putting a plan together for the vehicle. Not wanting to go crazy but still want it to be a bit more powerful. I'm taking my time with this though; want to be sure it's done right and not like one of the ones you referred to.
