RIP OFF!!!
not quite seeing that I have no idea who that is. All you people do is smash other people. All this BS because I posted the thread in the wrong forum??? That is absurd unless I am missing something here...Forgive me for posting a thread with intentions to help someone who doesn't know a whole lot about car's and good/bad prices from making the mistake of paying $400 more than an exhaust is actually worth. I know that you can get them off ebay, and I know that most places charge around $100 give or take a few dollars for just a stock exhaust. Not that it would take a lot of time or effort to switch out an exhaust but don't try to rip someone for trying to save a little bit of time for themselves, and I still had intentions on doing it myself,I just wanted to see how much the price different would be with me doing it compared to someone else doing it. I was a little astounded that the guy really gave me an estimate that charges $500 for a $100 exhaust, and I had a friend call him and ask for estimate for a similar exhaust and he even told that guy he just quoted a civic $500 for a stock exhaust. It is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.
yeah the car community as a whole of course not. But you never know when someone who doesn't have a lot of knowledge about car's and pricing would find their way on here and see the thread somehow and it may save them from getting ripped off no matter where the case happens. That was my intention.
I know big al's has always been kind of shady in general, but before I knew the asst. manager there (doesn't work there anymore) and he was going to put a 2.5 in. pipe going back to a new muffler for like $100. So I figured i'd take a shot and see if they would still do it for around that. I try to support the local businesses, but I was so astounded when he gave me an estimate like that I didn't know what to do!

If you want your exhaust done at a decent price (not $100) you can go to Mitchs Brake & Muffler in Norfolk. Good rates and quality craftsmanship.
