it would work, however it's probably a bit underpowered for the larger Corolla. why wouldn't you go with a (haha) JDM Corolla powerplant?!?

 

you have plenty of choices.......... 20b rotary,20 valve quad throttle body motor,J spec 4AGE.......there stuff is all higher compression so when you get a motor from there expect to use higher quality fuel....(100 Octane) or you will simply denate all day long.....all of these motors are very capable and cheap well except for the 20B its 5000 dollars but a crazy motor trust me if you have the money geeeett one from Japan......
