Default Polishing rims?

Well, I remember along time ago, there was a thread upon here that had Civic Si Rims, that were polished. How would I be able to give my rims the "polished" look? Almost like a mirror face polish. Please help me out, it's something I've wanted to do for a while and I have no idea why.

Sand the rims until all of the casting ripple/pebbly surface is completely smooth, and then go up through the grades of sandpaper until you have a proper base to use metal polishing compound. The better you level everything out, the better results you'll get in the end. It's very simple actually, just very labor intensive. This is just like color sanding paint, the premise is to knock everything down the the same level, then buff it up to a high shine.

Hmm, If only I could find a detailed write up on it. Thanks for the help so far!

That pretty much is the detailed write up..
It's really not any harder or more complicated than that.. Just find out what people are using for sandpaper grades (150 grit, 200 grit, etc) and you'll be set.

Thats exactly what u do! This is all u need right here. I was using 220, 330, 4xx, 5xx, then jumped to using the 800, 1000 then 1500. After the 1500 use the Mother Mags Polish and go to town with it.

You could also go with a slightly more aggressive grade of metal polish instead of going all the way out to 1500 grit paper if you wanted. This is only a benefit if you're using the polishing compounds with some sort of power tool and a polishing/cutting pad. Hand polishing won't save you any work vs. hand sanding really.
