PICK ONE CAR
I replaced the tranny with another stock (02) tranny then put another 50whp into the car...that was 50K miles ago and I haven't had any problems. They may be weak in comparison to other transmissions but if you drive it right they will hold. Until you start to eclipse the 300whp mark you don't have to worry.
Well It all depends on how well the cars were taken care of. The BMW is a 97 with 88 sum thousand miles. Think of where the car will be in the next 20k miles. You will have to start replacing parts really soon. If you want a BMW, I would look around, christmas is right around the corner which means someone is selling some cars at good deals. That BMW looks to be in nice condition, but you dont know what kinda of problems it could be having under the hood. thats just my 2cents I guess you could say that about all the cars but..
You also replaced my old KA-T with an essentially stock S13 SR, so I can't expect you to be good at decision making.
This should be no contest, E36 M3 >>>> WRX.
BMW parts don't cost any more then VW, actually in most cases less, the S50 engine is amazing, you can do a rebuild on the thing for a little more then the price difference between it and the WRX. So....again, no contest. And it has coilovers and wheels, and is black on black - come on man.
