way to be fucking stupid bens rex.... anyways i remember there being a big forum/shop site about trecels in sport compact car one time. Search on google.com for trecel forums. a specialty forum would be better suited to your needs. im sure www.nopionline.com has something for your car. they have something for basically every car. good luck...and to future posters stfu and stay on topic.

good god! if i had listened to a bunch of misinformed people like you years ago, i would never have been able to beat a 911 or a cobra r on the track...with my Tercel! no, not drag, but a 5.0 foxbody and a H22 prelude found-out that the car had balls the hard way in a straightline. nor would there be an import 'scene' today either.
ultraprince has it right. check elprototypes although their site has been down for quite awhile. LOREN on this board has a 4EFT-E swap in his paseo. you can do the same. you can also go with a 3ET-E, but that would be going into a backdate engine swap. if you're really good, you can use a 4AGE and either throw some 40DCOE sidedrafts on it and some huge lumpy cams, or you can go turbo (but make sure you address the internals). 4ag with carbs and cams can see a potential of 200whp. it really depends on your skills with a wrench and fabrication as well as knowing how to tune.
nopi has virtually nothing for any EL chassis. TRD USA doesn't really carry anything anymore either. there is a Tercel messageboard (i think it's tercelonline.com!?!?) where many people have had success with this economy platform. weight reduction in a Tercel? they barely weigh anything. mine is like 1984 with me and a full tank of gas and a rollcage.
btw: there's a rumor that a Tercel like yours with a 4EFT-E swap has been burning-up the streets somewhere in CA.
