when receiving a check for the damage repair cost, will geico give you an option to keep the check and cash it and not to have the damaged repaired?? Heres my case i accidentally back into someoneelse's car it left a good 5" dent, the guy asked for $100 and forget like it never happened, so i wrote him a check. Now im worried the guy might change his mind and decided to go to the insurance. Since its my fault, my insurance will pay for his damage. I would guess the damage is more than $100 what he asked me.
If the my insurance geico gave him an estimate ie. $200 will he get an option to cash the check and not have the damage repaired?

 

well u shouldve got it in writing that after u paid him the 100 that he couldnt hold u liable for it any longer

Geico generally sends payments to the repair shop directly to help reduce insurance fraud. You should have not mentioned who your insurance company is, because if he calls in GEICO is responsible whether YOU cooperate or not.

cause that happened to my friend, someone backed into him, busted his tail light and he just took $100 for it.
