I just didn't think a strut tower brace would have that much engineering. I can see pivots for a large building that may expand and contract but I just figured the pivots on an STB would be to make them more "universal."
So do you think a completely rigid brace would have no benefit over a brace with the pivot points?

It probably depends on the car.
ie. an s2000 which is more mid-engine than front engine...the benefit from having a rigid front STB would be higher than say a WRX, which has their strut towers less than an inch from the already stiff firewall.
Any brace is better than no brace, but some will work better than others. I'm worried about the Megan end plates flexing inward, changing the overall length and not really doing their job. That would only be a problem in compression though, tension would be fine.
I don't really see any advantage from pivot vs. no pivot. No pivot is probably a tiny bit better, but there are a lot of things that need to be upgraded and reinforced before the difference could ever be told. I'm just trying to keep anyone from making a judgment call based on whether a bar has a pivot or not..

cuz i want something that will accentuate the engine in the cosmestic department, but be somewhat functional but not too deep with the pockets either
