NSX
Corey, don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to piss you off, but there is some things I have to ask you...

this is what you'd expect the interior of a $100,000 car to look like? I know you hate plastic (even though 99% of car interiors are some form or another of it) and I see a lot of it here.
Another question... you'd take a NSX over a E46 M3?! Why would you choose a car with less features, amenities , performance and larger price over a car like the E46? That really make no since to me.

The M3: I'm just not a huge fan of them. They are very bland when it comes to styling. Not much sets them off from the standard 330. And it's sense.

You can't really put your finger on it, but it's there.
Also, I'd like to point out that nobody paid more than $86K for a regular NSX in the US. So this whole $96K or $100K thing is a little pointless.
thanks... typos are always running my life.
I understand that the dash is different than most cars. But really... is that what you'd expect a $100,000 to get you? I'm aware of you're hatred of plastic in an interior and even though there is less than most cars, there is still a ton of it there. What difference does it make really? This is what $55K would get you and I see one helluva difference, in my opinion.
But I know you don't like them, so I can repect that. I'm done now.
How so? I'm intrigued. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a E46 M3 put up better numbers (in all three major categories of performance: acceleration, handling, braking) than a NSX?

There are certain intangibles that you really need to experience to get an idea of the differences between the two cars. I know a few NSX owners who bought E46 M3s in an attempt to upgrade and kept the Bimmers for a couple of years at most before going back to the NSX.

There is not really any car that is going to get away from plastic on things like gauge trim, window switches, cubby's and things like that. It's the dash, door cards (panel), headliner and other big things that make a large difference.
And I don't see that much of a major difference in the NSX and the M3 interior wise. The M3 has a nice interior with the aluminum accents and all, but it's nothing to write home about either. The M3 has a feel like my R32 had. It's not soft, but it's definitely nice.
Not that we're talking Audi, but go sit in a $100k audi and then talk to someone about interior. You'll experience the best interior ever (other than maybe something out of the reach of nearly everyone such as a Maybach or Rolls).

As far as the interior goes, the NSX interior, to me, is timeless. That's why it barely changed in its fifteen-year run. The BMW has too many bells and whistles to distract you. Ergonomically it just seems out of porportion with itself. If that makes any sense. The NSX has that cockpit feel that never gets old. Compare the NSX interior with ANY early '90s BMW interior. See the difference?
