Default Nitrous Laws

Anyone know the laws on Nitrous use in VA? Like...is it legal to have it, just not have it hooked up? Because driving around with the bottle, a wrench, and the line six inches from each other is scaring me. I have heard they will impound your car just for having the bottle, and I can't seem to find any information on the laws. So anyone ever had any experience? ;-)

Yep if there is pressure on the feedline to the selenoid you can be fined, but nothing keeping you from having it in the car.

Where do you all get your info from? I've talked to countless police officers, state troopers, magistrates, and I have gone through the Code of Virginia on many of nights looking up the laws for cars and there is not a single one on nitrous. Code numbers would help.

yeah in the code book for the commonwealth of va there is nothing about nitrous, as a matter of fact i don't think the word is in there but the worst you can get for it would be an improper equipment, or unapproved equipment charge. which means come to court and tell the judge it's gone, and out goes your ticket. or if you don't wanna miss a day of work, pay it and it won't go on you license. it's like $40.00 or somethin. i would bring it to court, but thats my opinon. but anyway, thats all i can say about it.
