Default Nissan doodz look here

Any you guys having issues with your fuel injectors lately? Im just curious as another one just went out on my car, and a buddy of mine that works at a Nissan dealership said Nissans injectors have been taking a dive lately, possibly from the shit in the gas. Trying to see if theres any truth to that or I should just stop replacing crapped out injectors with more used ones.

if its crappy gas, use better gas (if you can afford it) or octane booster. That might help. or maybe every other tank load use some fuel systems cleanser from STP.

I love that shit. If my car could only run on it....

i got some D16 injectors... or just put some 500cc ones in, the bigger bore will allow the crud to flow through so they won't get clogged.

My local Nissan Master Tech says that he`s been putting sets on z32`s left and right since the switch to ethanol. he said that he`s done close to 1 set a day for a few weeks now.

YEAH. My Z's injectors went out about a month ago--well, half of them did, anyway. I thought it was strange that three of them went out within a few days of each other. They're not only a pain in the ass to replace, but they're expensive as hell! I don't know if you've seen how cramped those bitches' engine bays are, but you have to get all the way to the lower intake plenum to switch them out, and why replace them with stock-ass injectors? I've got to have my whole lower intake manifold machined to fit the 850cc injectors.

Yet my Maxima's running like a champ. Sometimes I loathe Nissan...

That's a lot of retuning, why bother if you don't need bigger injectors?

DOes anyone know what's actually happening to the injectors? I can't see them getitng clogged with ethanol, which is very low viscosity. So is the ethanol deteriorating something inside and making them die? Could be one of nasty additives too I guess..

And for the record, use something better than STP cleaner, it's just kerosene and a few other things. Try BG 44k, it's expensive but it's one of the best that I know of..
