VTECnology, I see no reason to switch for that new motor either.

I just had to post my 2.0 dyno with my ve. This is with I/H/E and the sr16ve cams. The cams have crappy low lobes. My new cams will have a even healther bottom end. I really wish I could get my car to hold on like the s2000 does till 8K. Up until 7k they are very similiar. It is interesting how late your cams kick in. Whats the thinking on activating the cams earlier. My cams activate at 4300 and 4700 rpm. If you want me to delete this topic/post I will. I don't want to take the thread in a direction you don't care for.

Nah I don't mind....I think Honda sets the cams to switch at such a high RPM for a really stupid reason. They want you to FEEL VTEC. So they wait till the low rpm cam lobes have started to fall of a little bit before the big cams come in. That way you feel a real difference. Also, The low rom cams are fairly aggressive on an S2000. They're not really concerned with making power at 2000 rpms when they've got 9000 to play with. The smaller cams make theirbest power at almost 6 grand, and if you set it right, which I will with a fresh tune, you'll end up with a very very smooth plot. When I had my V-AFC tuned the first time you honestly couldn't see any indication of VTEC switching. From the factory the VTEC crossover is almost 1000 rpms too high. It feels faster, but it ain't.

It is nice to get a little more tq in the midrange. I am sometimes down a gear on the roadcourse and it pulls a little better from 4K on up. I would guess when you retune it will be in the 5K range. Post the dyno so I can see it.

Will do. The biggest thing with tuning the V-AFC was how much it helped on a road course. Before when it hit so artificialy hard it was a bitch mid turn. I was on Road Atlanta with it and a coupel of the increasing radius turns would have me accelerating through the VTEC point mid turn. The last thing I wanted mid corner was an unexpected 15-20 hp jump to send my back end around. With the VTEC point lowered almost 1000 rpms it smoothed over the transition enought to make it a little more easy to drive.
