Default Re: clutch suggestions..

i just got off the phone with a guy at clutchmasters and what he told me is that basically, no matter what stage i went with, the pedal pressure would feel the same because it's hydraulic and not cable...anyone know if this is true or not?

Not true, unless all their clutch kits use the same pressure plate. Pedal pressure is going to depend on the pressure plate. ACT HD pressure plates are considerably stiffer than stock. I probably wouldn't use one for a daily driver unless you do mostly highway driving; ie, I wouldn't want to be stuck in rush-hour traffic with an ACT clutch.
Exedy makes Honda's stock clutches, and I'd stick with that. Their stage 1 clutch package is just a little stiffer than stock.

I wouldn't go with a 4/6-puck style clutch as the engagement tends to be a lot faster, and not very good for daily drivers.

As for where the clutch/pedal engagement is, you can adjust that from inside the car. There is a rod that connects the pedal to the master cylinder, you just loosen a locknut on that and turn the rod to adjust it. Get a Haynes/other service manual and go through the instructions, it's very easy.

Koni Yellows for $460 shipped:
http://www.extremepowerouters.com/Ci...uspension.html

Not sure for what car but pricing varies:
http://www.kteller.com/store/index.php/cPath/33_314

Also check on Honda-tech. I remember seeing package deals for koni yellow + GCs, H&R, etc. when I was browsing for a new setup.

Damn dude, that is a good deal of money. A little bit more and you can buy full coilovers from tien, or you already have enough for some omni's or skunk2's. But it depends on what exactly you are looking for. If you just want shocks/springs, that is a good amount of money and you can get a good setup.

Does H&R make the race springs for your Civic? I looked on a few stores and none had them. They had the sports, but not the race. The sports were 1.75f, 1.5r, and only $209, you should be fine with $930.
