how about molding urethane to fiberglass?

 

well its hard to bond glass to urethane also ...its fairly easy to mold glass to metal,,we use stuff called vette bond which is used on vettes..its hard to mold anything urethane..imagine molding a plastic bottle to your car..close to the same

 

youd probably pay more for a molded kit than another crx...

 

I would really try to find some repair adhesive/filler for automotive plastics. 3M makes the Duramix line of products that may work for what you need if used with the right seam reinforcement and some overlap, etc. Try to find a Duramix dealer and discuss what you want to do. Most urethanes and TPO plastics are "oily" plastics, and you have to get special products to stick to them, etc. The cool thing about Duramix stuff is that it cures to be the same hardness as the urethane, and then it's just sanding and finish work from there....

 

Urethane expands and contracts due to the tempature change. A company called "CREST" which has a place in yorktown makes stuff called "Rigid Red" which works really good..... but i guarantee its still going to crack.

 

they have a place in yorktown? do they actually do the molding work or just sell th product?

 

molded kits are for trailer queens which dont see the bumps and bruises of everday driving

 

well beleive me there is no way it will be a trailer queen and it just doesnt look all that great without it molded and i cant drive till febuary so i might as well make it look nice while i cant drive

 

are you complaining that the edges and bodylines dont line up with the fenders.that can be fixed and still doesnt have to be molded...anyway if u want it molded i can and are willing to do it..but there is no guarantee on how long it will last..id like to see the car so you can show me your problems and maybe i can fix them without molding it..call 722 2199 ask for duane
