Mazdaspeed 6 vs Hhr ss which one to buy?

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 vs Hhr ss which one to buy?
I recently sold my caliber srt4 a few months ago, there is surprisingly decent power to be made with that car. Has the 2.4L "world motor" which is different from the neon and closely related to the evo X motor with the mistu forged internals. Fully bolted can net you 330-340whp, depending on boost levels can get you to 400whp. With all that said, with mine fully bolted, got 30mpg hwy. Ugly to some, mine was stock outside and was somewhat a "sleeper"

LETS SEE 5 CARS IN 20 SECONDS OR LESS THAT I CAN THINK OF FOR 10-15k THAT ARE BETTER THAN BOTH OF THESE CHOICES....
1- WRX
2- S2000
3- 05 UP MUSTANG
4- MIATA
5- 350Z
OH WAIT 5 CARS IN 20 SECONDS BETTER THAN THIS FOR 10K OR LESS
1- ANY E30 BMW
2- MIATA
3- NEON SRT4
4- MUSTANG -FOX BODY
5- INTEGRA
none of these are in any particular order of preference.... just better than your original idea.

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 vs Hhr ss which one to buy?
In that price range used I'd look for something like a 06'ish IS250 in 6speed or auto.
Brand new you could get a Ford Focus with Tech pckg and have a great DD.
Also, you tend to get pre-approved for more on a brand new car vs a used one. And the rates are much lower on new cars. I'd much rather pay 16k and 1% on a new focus and not have to worry about anything other than being cool rather then have a 17k loan on a used turbo car at 9%. If you're bent on used at that price range an entry level luxury lexus or acura is a sound choice or hell a 1st gen CTS-V.
Your choice man, just make sure you get the most car for your money.

Re: Mazdaspeed 6 vs Hhr ss which one to buy?
Lol financially irresponsible I don't think I am. Putting down 3,000 the particular ms6 I'm looking at is a 06 with 43k on it. I have not seen this one in person yet so I can't comment of its been abused on. The hhr ss is a gm certified one with 36,000 miles that a older guy owned since new and is at the dealership that it originally was purchased from new. I just wanted people's opinions on the two vehicles or listen to some other suggestions. Problem with that?

Get a G35 Coupe and be done with it.
If you want more room, get a GS400 or WRX or any other number of cars. There's also a really clean G35 sedan in blue for a good price on the FS forum too. Not to bag on your thread, but the cars you mentioned are probably the last ones I would consider(aside from an SRT4 neon).

@OP
Hi, there's a few good pieces of advice in this thread. I'll try to add some more while reiterating a little of what's already been said.
You have $3000. You want to spend up to $17k. The two vehicles you listed in your original post are probably bad decisions given your parameters. I certainly would not buy either of those and most people here on the forums would not either.
Have you ever financed a car before? It sounds like a poor decision to finance that much considering you only have $3000 saved up. I wouldn't do that unless I had no other financial responsibilities in life. If you're a kid and live with your parents or something then it's not as bad, but I still wouldn't do it. Certainly not to buy an hhr or mazda.
Suggesting other cars wouldn't be super constructive because everyone has different tastes, but really, there are a lot of better options out there for less.
