Looking for a car but cant get help. Friendly advice please!!!
Hey Guys,
Got a little problem here. I am trying to buy a car and I keep getting rejected. My credit would be spotless except for the fact that my auto pay did not work for both credit cards while I was in training so i get out of basic training to find out that i am about 60 days late on both credit cards . Now my credit is all f**cked up. I do not want to go to a buy here, pay here lot or drive time so I can pay 21% interest but I am close to having no choice. I'm sure a lot of you have advice so I am open to almost anything. I just want to know if I have any options before i make a deal with the devil. Thanks a lot guys.
-ALSO I HAVE JUST PCS'D TO TINKER AFB, OKLAHOMA SO I AM NOT IN THE AREA TO CHECK OUT ANY CARS

oh yeah i have no parents to get help from either, i would've probably tried that already if it were an option. but thanks though
if your in the military go to your credit union.... if its a few late payment that dont mean anything...
right now banks are going to start lending more money... so you should be good.
if you have a stable dod job you can get credit anywhere.

My first car loan was from one of those buy here pay here places. It ended up being 29%, but the payments were so low I could pay more and paid it off in a year, so even though the rate was high it didn't hurt me as bad if I stuck with the payments they gave me that would have me paying it off in 3 years.
Two months of late payments on two credit cards won't damage your credit bad enough to get rejected everywhere. Something doesn't add up. You either don't have enough credit or aren't telling the entire story.
Try to get a loan through a bank or credit union. You may have to get a signature loan at a higher interest rate than an auto loan, but it will get you on your way. If you ask the bank, you may be able to refinance the loan at a better interest rate down the road when you can get your credit back on track.
While you're in Oklahoma and aren't able to look at cars, research ways to constructively build and repair your credit. Then you'll be on track for better loan rates when you're back in the area and seriously looking for loans.
