kinda unusual HID conversion question
this is why i said i dont want to do it the ghetto rice-tastic way. i was more looking for suggestions on how to control that or retro-fitting other projectors. so, any suggestions on what to do rather than what not to do?
There is a guy on this board that does retrofitting, but I can't remember his name. Maybe he'll chime in, in this thread.
It costs a lot of money to do a retro fit with projectors. I have a 300zx with factory halogen projector style lights in it. I bought an ebay HID kit for $150 shipped, plugged them in and it was done. Easy way to have brighter light, you dont need projector headlights for it to work.
The best and easiest way to do this is to use stock parts. Cheapest route seems to be Acura TSX projectors and then retrofit them into your headlamps and then use the stock ballasts and bulbs. TSX projectors seems to be the way to go because the projectors are relatively small in its dimensions so it is easily adapted to most headlamps. And for those of you who have plug and play kits. Go outside and take a wall pic and see if you have cutoff lines like this!

And some light output!

No glare from these at all. The reason for the projectors you can't retro and non projector type hid system from another car and the projectors do just like they say they project the light into a certain pattern. By doing this you have no glare. Very nice to the other drivers and cops won't mess with you. Most plug and play also come bulbs greater than 5000k! Way to blue! Stick around 4150k and you be just fine.

Check out http://www.hidtech.com/ They do conversions. MP5 has a set of their headlights that he bought from another user and they are top notch.
