You can import a Skyline.

But for the most part expect to pay anywhere from 10-40k over the value of the vehicle and not get it for close to a year. Thats assuming it passes the US EPA inspection, if it fails you forfiet the money for the shipping, inspection storage, and emissions regulations conversions. Not to mention you have a car that is on a slow boat back to Nippon. As for the exact regulations and such they can be found on the net. Just google it. I dont have the website bookmarked anymore sorry.

The only way around the emissions problem is if you dont live in Cali. and dont plan on driving the car, register it as a show only car, and then import it. The costs are close to the same but you wont have to worry about the emissions conversion costs or labor. But the car will not be road legal here in the states.

The Car cannot leave the RI (registered importer) without passin the NHTSA, EPA requirements. And then only then can the car leave the lot. The car cannot touch "U.S Soil" with out being in coherence with the law.

WRONG. Cannot register the car as a "Show Car", NHTSA has a strict list of cars that can be registered as such. And the car does not have to meet local emmission standards, but it has to meet the EPA Requirements which are federal.
