Im looking to get an srt-4
Ive owned one, and im about to own another.

I hope youre ok with people calling your car a pos on the daily, or trash talking it though. It does however make it more special when you show them up.
The problems i kept having were 3rd and 4th gear screwing up. I was on my 4th transmission when i sold the car at 45k miles. I heard it was a design flaw in the shift fork?? I believe since then, they have created a fix for it though.
I also had constant boost leaks, but i had a boost leak tester, and as long as you dont mind getting a little dirty once in a while it shouldnt be a problem. (or buy zip ties and t clamps.)
Wheel hop is CRUCIAL. Start out with motor mounts. Ill say it again. Your First mod NEEDS to be motor mounts. I would also upgrade the motor mount bolts too, if you launch hard and often, they can snap.
Other than that, the only problem i had was my plug wires kept frying. I bought an aftermarket heat shield for them at modernperformance.com and never had the problem after that.
One last thing, AGP is a great company for SRT-4 products. Go to AGPturbo.com and check them out.

I beat the FUCK out of that car. The boost leaks and plug wires didnt bother me because i found a fix, and the tranny's were sorta my fault whenever i missed a real hard shift. (except the last time, dodge fucked my shit up installing it)

People hate on them especially civic owners but i ran high 12s with 113 trap on street tires with a stock turbo set to 22psi, fmic, short throw, agp wastegate actuator,map clamp and a few other bpu upgrades. Added a bigger turbo and full exhaust but got stolen before i could track it
. Most of my friends with srts have 400+ whp. Tranny starts to go after 60k i heard but mine was fine so i guess i depends on driver. These cars take hella abuse, cast iron block and parts have to be cheap now. Dont get an 03 and dont get gay rims (most srt owners do....dont know why).
i like what you did with the stock wheels,im really familiar with the looks of the cars,i just wanted fellow va people to give me some positive/negative advice.I learned alot more than i knew earlier like 03's no lsd,04'up having weak trannys but 60k on a tranny?makes me wonder

yes they "can" be real fast... yes they are neons... yes occasionally there shift knob comes off... yes the front doors have power windows but the rears do not... yes when you put a aftermarket blow off valve on their with some intake it is loud... yes the interior sucks balls...
dont buy it...
dont...only douche bags drive those cars... with the exception of a few...but that is a very slim margin...very slim...and even then those guys know they look like douche bags...

this will be the first time i will be going through the loan/dealer process and i wanna make sure im getting my moneys worth if im commiting for a few years
