I also used to have one. Sold it when I got orders over seas and couldn't take it with me.
The Good:
Fun to drive
Cheap to mod
Reliable (in my experience)
Got (what I considered) great highway MPG
The Bad:
You will hear "it's still a neon" more times than you can count. Everyone seems to think you might have forgotten.
Expensive to insure
Most people that have them are tools. You will be considered a tool as well.
Not the best looking car.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind having another one but I feel like I'm getting too old for the "boy racer" look.

I met up with a few of them in newport news from time to time, and almost every single one of the was the most cocky, smirk wearing faggot about their cars. Just because you beat 99% of the hondas you race on the road doesnt make your car fast, you're just racing 17 year old kids with nothing more than a ls swap and bolt on's half the time. Get over your neon. Seriously.
Not the best looking car. --- I actually think without a wing, and lowered a shit ton, and some nice wheels with a big intercooler poking out, the neon looked pretty good. Here's mine. I had never gotten around to getting the big intercooler or taking the wing off though.

apparently you havn't seen a neon when its not lowered. If i had coilovers i could go lower, but it was more than a 2 inch drop. The wheels are debatable, but the majority of people liked them. This time, it'll be black on black and slammed on coilovers.
