I have this guy telling me that usdm and jdm honda motors are the same:

Just one example, but dryhopsux13 jus dropped in a JDM B16 in his coupe, and its definitely a hell of a lot quicker than a USDM B16. They tell me it's due to higher compression and more hp(equivalent to a USDM GS-R).

Yea, plus you can always tell your friends you got a super cool japanesey JDM engine with JDM grease still smeared all over it

 

and jdm dirt and leaves! but yeah jdm motors are usually built to take advantage of the better gas they have over there.

JDM motors are much better, and generally they've been better taken care of because the Japanese get rid of them after 2 years for the most part, and they were putting 100-110 octane in them (thats the normal gas over there). You're getting a more powerful engine, and you're also getting a cleaner engine.

 

if he knew what JDM and USDM accually mean he should know its basicly self-explanitory, but yea JDM motors are stronger

 

They also tend to beat the shit out of some of them. It's rare though, so don't worry about that. Any reputable engine supplier will exchange for a good one if it's thrashed. If you see a 3 or 6 puck copper or copper/ceramic clutch, hold your breath.
