I sold a damn 97 civic hatchback with a stock civic type r swap for 13k. someone would probably pay 15 for it if they wanted it bad enough.

 

If push comes to shove toss it up on eBay. $15k for a built S14 is reasonable IMO.

 

why rebuild it better than before and then just sell it?

Yeah right, blue book is like $4k...the most I could ever get from a dealer is maybe that...you don't have to understand us "kids" to know if a car is fast, reliable, and looks good, it will sell eventually...patience is all I need...




Well, the rebuild is costing more than I anticipated...I still have my damn xterra, I'm want to go to school and I have WAY too much debt, due to my foolishness when I was in the Navy... I gave up on selling my xterra, so the 240 has to go...and if I can get $15k for it, then I can pay off what I owe on the car plus several smaller loans I have out right now...

unless an engine is built by someone well known i don't trust it. Some guy slapping together a stock rebuild is slightly different then trusting a guy to build me a 500hp turbo 4 banger. I guess the car is worth whatever some idiot is willing to pay for it?

 

15k for a 500whp car seems fair to me... dealerships sell used cars with half that power for more money than that... gl wit the sell man
