Well, as a few of you know, I blew up my "semi" built motor about a month ago. Prior to that, I was a week away from selling it for $13k. Well, now that it's nearing completion, it will be back up for sale, but I don't know what to ask for it. It will still have the same built block, but it now has Brian crower cams, valve springs, and retainers. It also comes with a whole new set of greddy gauges, brand new paint job, brand new spec 6 puck clutch, and few little minor things. I was think about $15k, but I'm not sure if 240s are pulling that nowadays....I was wanting to know if you guys were looking into buying a 240 and had that kind of cash, would you buy it?


edit: block has JUN rods, CP 87mm pistons, and HKS sleeves. Head has the mentioned above with Cometic .8mm headgasket, arp studs...fuel setup remains the same, turbo setup the same, fmic set up the same...

 

i wouldn't think 15k is too much to ask for it, but i have had a total of 0 offers on mine and i'm asking 12k. granted, yours is about 5 years newer and about 200 whp stronger than mine, but it seems like the 240 craze has subsided and now the only people interested in buying already-built cars don't have the money for the initial investment. plus it's hard to get a loan for double or triple the blue-book value of a used vehicle. i would say you'd have more luck than me though...

 

I hope so...NOTHING is fast down here...guys that ride with me think I have the fastest 240 ever...so I'm hoping the small reputation I have will carry to someone that's looking for one...

 

I don't see why not. I seen na 240's go for that much. All you need is the right notivated buyer.

 

lol, try listing it on some of the dallas tx boards, there is crazy money out there and people are allways looking for fast cars

i sold my black s14 with stock suspention, iffy paint and a stock swap for 9K the first day i listed it on auto trader

 

I think you can get 15out of it.

SR with pretty much a built engine.
Big turbo.
JDM side view mirrors and shit on it.
