How many motors have you been through?
-2.5 years ago or so,b18b-cracked #2 sleeve and the #4 piston(this was my fault cause my car wasnt tuned and i was just boost happy, but the motor had been boosted for a year, the funny thing is it blew when i was going 45 mph just driving, haha. )
-b18b-14psi, was smoking out the breather so i pulled for my freshly built motor
-currently-b18b w/p30 jdm ctr pistons awaiting all my goodies for my all motor ls/vtec conversion
-2.5 years ago cracked the tranny casing,shift fork shaft, snapped the diff into 40 pieces,and broke the speed senor at MIR on slicks on my 2nd pass.
-3 months later, snapped the diff into another 40 pieces at the 1/8th mile track on slicks yet again after 20 runs(of course i broke the shit on the last run of the night), but i won the race against a b16 hatch w/ a 60 shot(just barely though, i almost went into his lane cause the diff was snapped, car was pulling like crazy but i wasnt about to lose again, ahha), whats odd is ive never broke an axle....
-currently have the rebuilt jammy w/ new casing and all new bearings and ish like that.....

The only time you have a problem with the apex seal is detonation...

Being a dumbass and bolting on everything known to man and completely ingoring the fuel is what gives the engines a bad rep.
1st car EK hatch.
Motor #1 blew the D16 on a 60 shot dry because i let soembody change my spark plugs and he put in stock plugs. It ran fine for 6 months with the 2 steps colder. My fault for letting him get my plugs at the store. Rebuilt by JG Engine Dynamics in Alhambra, CA from the bottom up (wanted to be one of the first quick SOHC in 1996) they forgot to install the oil pick up on my car so when i drove it away i spun a rod! there goes motor #2 in less that 3 hours (my lawyer got my money back) I dropped in another D16 but slapped a Vtec head on it this time and sold the car.
3rd car 98 integra
First motor B18B blown on a cracked nitrous jet in the #4 fogger 80 shot direct port... (what a way to go)... 0 compressor in #4... replaced with another B18B and lost that one to leaving the bottle heart on too long. Too much pressure means too much nitrous (needle pegged on gauge)... car was running 100 shot direct port at the time and got detonation ran compression and was really low across all 4... but it still ran kind of! Car was totalled...
Thats it so far.

Sentra SE-R Two motors- Pulled out the DE and did the SR. First SR--- Rod flew out of the block . Then Put in the Sec SE-R built it and Sold it. A month later the guy blew the motor O in number 3.

first b16a, piston # 3 cracked, broken ring land/rings, second b16a threw it in the crx and drove it for about 2000 miles then traded the car in
now rocking the D16y8 in my coupe with 125xxx miles (mostly all high way miles) running very strong and stock
